City University will lead the run-time support activity in Serenity (A4) carrying out basic and applied research focusing on developing support for dynamic monitoring, validation, and adaptation of S&D solutions for AmI ecosystems. City University’s contribution will build upon on-going experience and work in the F6 integrated project SeCSE, where one of the areas of City’s involvement is the development of frameworks for run-time monitoring of service centric systems. City’s contributions will also include a participation to the Integration schemes, the development of mechanisms addressing trust and a participation in the Support Environment activity with the design and integration of the Serenity framework.
City’s exploitation strategy will develop through two axes:
- 1. Education and training: City has a wide undergraduate, postgraduate and professionally accredited courses portfolio which has also a strong emphasis on the development and management of complex e-business solutions and significant coverage of security and dependability issues using industry standards such as my.sap.com thanks to its in-house SAP Laboratory. Through theses courses, City will provide a framework for quick transfer of knowledge developed as part of its research in Serenity.
- 2. Industrial collaborations and technology transfer. City has a long standing expertise in transferring research outcomes to the industry. Over the past few years, it has been engaged in several research and technology transfer activities funded by industry organisations including activities funded by Eurocontrol (EU), NATS (UK). Such industrial contacts provide a basis for a proactive communication of the results of Serenity.
