The FP7 have introduced the “FET-Proactive” initiatives aim at focusing resources on visionary and challenging long-term goals that are timely and have strong potential for future impact. These goals provide a common strategic perspective and a focal point around which a critical mass of research can be assembled and synergies developed.
The Future Emerging technology (FET) Proactive Initiative PERADA, launched mid-2007, gathers 7 projects focused on pervasive adaptation. PERADA projects aim at achieving a new generation of massively scalable systems that, in spite of heterogeneity, noise and often unreliable conditions, can display a fundamental capacity for self-controlled adaptation and organisation. They should foster new human-centric services, reducing management and maintenance cost, and ensure security and trust in pervasive applications, addressing the needs for both accountability and privacy.
Here is the list of the PERADA initiative projects:
• ALLOW - Adaptable Pervasive Flows
• ATRACO - Adaptive and Trusted Ambient Ecologies project
• FRONTS - Foundations of Adaptive Networked Societies of Tiny Artefacts
• PANORAMA - Pervasive Adaptation Network for the Organisation of the Research Agenda and the Management of Activities
• REFLECT - Responsive Flexible Collaborating Ambient
• SOCIALNETS - Social Networking for Pervasive Adaptation
• SYMBRION - Symbiotic Evolutionary Robot Organisms
