Katholieke Universiteit Leuven’s involvement in Serenity

Security requirements are frequently imposed by law. Personal data controllers, operators of public networks or companies providing publicly available services on these networks are all expected to comply with very specific rules. In many other cases, the law that is to be respected remains implicit. Both ways, providers of networks, products, services that are not sufficiently secure will be held liable in case of damages. Encryption, authentications, signatures and privacy are as many topics that security-related rules address. ICRI will ensure that the Serenity project bear all these legal aspects in mind. Its contribution will focus on the Organisation and Business (A1), on the requirements specification and evaluation of the scenario (A7) as well as in the Industrialisation and Business Activity.

Exploitation strategy

Serenity’s results in legal research will be used by ICRI in specialised and interdisciplinary publications. ICRI frequently organises workshops and seminars and takes part in international conferences. Serenity’s results will also be utilised in major other European projects (PRIME, FIDIS, MODINIS).
