SAP will lead the scenario activity and conduct the e-business and smart items domains scenarios which will be devised in close cooperation with both related SAP research programmes (i.e. Smart Items) and SAP’s business groups. In the e-business scenario, SAP will address vital security requirements for visionary SAP platforms such as Enterprise Service Architecture and possibly contribute to future product specifications and developments.
Sap will also contribute to the provision of patterns and integration schemes and take advantage of synergies among its Security and Trust portfolio by making project results (e.g. enforcement of separation of duty security policies developed in eJustice) available through the Serenity framework.
To SAP, Serenity’s main outcome will be technologies in the form of enhanced security pattern and integration schemes and of the Serenity framework which will provide a secure framework for the provision of future business application and enterprise system landscapes in heterogonous and changing environments. Serenity supports SAP’s vision of Enterprise Service Architecture (ESA) by providing validated security solutions for the advanced requirements and environments faced by ESA.
Therefore, SAP will focus on an internal dissemination and exploitation of the projects results. The scenario domains selected are of vital importance and thus pave the way for a broader exploitation. The eBusiness scenario is bound to provide security solutions for NetWeaver, the integration and application platform on which mySAP business Suite and SAP xApps are based.
The Smart Items scenario addresses future scenarios of the SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure. SAP Auto-ID connects directly with business processes requiring signal data to drive faster and better business decisions. With SAP Auto-ID Infrastructures
