Telefonica I+D’s involvement in Serenity

Telefonica I+D (TID) takes part in the provision and guiding of scenarios in the Communications domain. The scenarios will be designed in close cooperation with its internal research projects related to Indoor Location Systems.

TID plan to generate appropriate security patterns and integration schemes for ILS-based scenarios that fit in the Serenity framework. Furthermore, TID brings its perspective on the security and privacy requirements and challenges experienced by the Telefonica’s condition of Telecommunication Operator.

In addition to the scenario activity, as a result of our strong scientific and industrial expertise, TID will contribute in the definition of the security patterns and integration schemes, trying to drive them towards a general academic and industrial acceptance.

Exploitation strategy

Telefonica I+D proposes an activity dissemination plan divided in two different scope levels:
- National scope. As a common member of Spanish national consortia for innovation project development, TID will try to incorporate those Serenity developed technologies or proposals into the projects within the same area of application in which it participates. Doing so, other national companies, outside of Serenity Consortium, will know about the results of the Project, thus obtaining geometric dissemination for them.
- International scope. Likewise, TID is also a common participant in european innovation programs, so it will try to make these dissemination efforts extendable to an international scope by applying the results of Serenity project to the international consortia where it has a membership.

The main objective is to provide the basis for the arising of new innovation projects involving the integration of Serenity results, as a part or for the main purpose. In addition, Telefonica I+D will carry out an exploitation plan for the Serenity results within the Telefonica Group itself. As a R&D company, TID will promote the commercial use of the Serenity developed technologies among the Telefonica Group bussiness units.
